In a broader sense, selecting a favorable muhurta involves consulting an astrologer to determine the best time to start important events such as weddings, religious ceremonies, business ventures, or journeys. The aim is to ensure success and minimize obstacles by aligning with favorable planetary positions and cosmic influences.
Muhurtas are determined based on various astrological calculations, including the positions of the sun, moon, planets, and the ascendant (rising sign) at a given time. Astrologers also consider other factors such as tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (lunar mansion), yoga, and karana (half of a tithi) to identify the most beneficial time periods for specific activities.
