In Vedic astrology, the D4 chart, also known as the Chaturthamsa chart, is one of the sixteen supplementary divisional charts (Varga charts) used for detailed analysis of specific aspects of life. Each Varga chart focuses on a particular area of life and provides additional insights beyond what can be seen in the main birth chart (Lagna chart).
The D4 chart, the Chaturthamsa chart, primarily focuses on happiness, comforts, and properties, including immovable assets like land and buildings.
Chaturthamsa chart - D4 chart - what it represents
- Division: The D4 chart divides each zodiac sign into four equal parts, each representing one Chaturthamsa. Each Chaturthamsa covers 7°30' within a sign, resulting in a total of 90 Chaturthamsa divisions for the entire zodiac.
- Calculation: The D4 chart is calculated based on the precise longitude of the Ascendant (Lagna) at the time of birth. Each Chaturthamsa is associated with a specific sign from the same element (fire, earth, air, or water), starting from the same sign as the Ascendant.
- Analysis: The D4 chart provides insights into an individual's level of happiness, comforts, and properties, particularly immovable assets like land, real estate, and buildings. Each Chaturthamsa may represent different qualities and experiences related to these areas of life.
- Planetary Influences: The placement of planets in the D4 chart influences the interpretation of happiness, comfort levels, and property ownership. Benefic or malefic influences on specific Chaturthamsa divisions may indicate positive or challenging experiences related to wealth and possessions.
- Remedial Measures: Vedic astrologers may recommend specific remedial measures based on the analysis of the D4 chart to enhance happiness, improve comfort levels, and facilitate property acquisition. These remedies may include wearing gemstones, performing rituals, or practicing specific spiritual disciplines associated with benefic planets.
Overall, the D4 chart, or Chaturthamsa chart, provides valuable insights into an individual’s level of happiness, comfort, and property ownership. It helps astrologers offer guidance on improving overall well-being, enhancing material comforts, and acquiring and managing immovable assets effectively.
