What is manglik
Mangal Dosha is considered when Mars (Mangal) is placed in certain positions in the birth chart, primarily
- North Indian Vedic System: Mars placed in Bhav/House 1, 4, 7, 8, or 12 is believed to bring challenges or obstacles in marriage and relationships.
- South Indian Vedic System: Mars placed in Bhav/House 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, or 12 is believed to bring challenges or obstacles in marriage and relationships.
“Manglik cancellation” refers to the concept in Vedic astrology where the negative effects of Mangal Dosha (Mars affliction) in a person’s birth chart are believed to be nullified or mitigated by certain astrological combinations or remedies.
Under certain conditions each of these Mangal dosha stands cancelled as described below:
- Mars in its own sign or exalted: When Mars is placed in its own sign (Aries or Scorpio) or in the sign of its exaltation (Capricorn), it is considered strong and may cancel Mangal Dosha.
- Mars with Jupiter or Venus: If Mars is conjunct with or aspected by benefic Greh/Planets like Brihaspat/Jupiter or Shukar/Venus, it may reduce the negative effects of Mangal Dosha.
- Cancellation by certain planetary combinations: There are specific astrological combinations or yogas that are believed to cancel Mangal Dosha. For example, if Brihaspat/Jupiter is placed in the Bhav/House 7 from the Lagan/Ascendant or the Chnader/Moon, it is considered auspicious and may nullify Mangal Dosha.
It’s important to note that beliefs and practices related to Mangal Dosha cancellation vary among different astrological traditions and practitioners. While some individuals and families may consider Mangal Dosha cancellation important for marriage compatibility, others may prioritize factors such as mutual respect, understanding, and shared values in relationships. Ultimately, the decision to consider Mangal Dosha and its cancellation factors in marriage compatibility is a personal one and may vary based on cultural and individual beliefs.
