In Vedic astrology, the Ascendant chart, also known as the Lagna chart or the D-1 chart, is one of the most important components of a birth chart (Kundli). The Ascendant chart is derived from the placement of the Ascendant (Lagna) at the time of birth, along with the positions of the planets in the zodiac signs.
Ascendant chart what it represents
- Ascendant -Lagna: The Ascendant is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact time and location of an individual's birth. It represents the self, physical body, personality, and overall life path. The Ascendant is the starting point of the first house in the birth chart.
- Houses - Bhavs: The Ascendant chart consists of twelve houses, each representing specific areas of life and experiences. The placement of planets within these houses is analyzed to gain insights into different aspects of an individual's life journey.
- Planets - Grehs: The positions of the planets in the zodiac signs and houses are plotted in the Ascendant chart. Each planet represents certain qualities, energies, and influences, which interact with the signs and houses to shape an individual's personality and destiny.
- Aspects - Drishti: Planetary aspects, which are the angular relationships between planets, are also considered in the Ascendant chart analysis. These aspects can create harmonious or challenging dynamics between planets, affecting various areas of life.
- Signs - Rashis: The zodiac signs, representing different qualities and elemental energies, play a crucial role in interpreting the Ascendant chart. The placement of planets in specific signs influences their expression and impact on the individual.
